Hobbies

I am a published author, researcher into education, a writer, an artist and a teacher for Secondary school and University. Moreover, I am a public speaker that actively speaks on the topic of education, 'the teacher' as practitioner' issues - I recently delivered a TEDx Talk titled 'Who am I? Artist, Teacher or Both'? I published an Educational textbook series with Macmillan Education Australia aimed at improving secondary students' creative writing and English skills using innovative pedagogies. My short fiction, poetry and artwork has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers including 'The Nation' - Thailand's leading newspaper. I have been actively involved in art exhibitions - both curating and as an artist. My interest in art and writing has evolved from my school years where I was a regular contributor for the student newsletter, 'Offbeat,'; sub-editor for the Secondary school magazine, 'The Core,' and was an active member of the South East Asian Students (SEASAC) Arts Festival. In 2005, I was the First-prize winner of the Fiction category in the literary competition that took place amongst 12 of Melbourne University’s Residential Colleges, and was the runner-up for the Poetry category.
