ATAR: 99.65; B.A. (Hons) | Monash University
In 2015, I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Dean's Scholar) at Monash University. I achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00 (24 units, 24 High Distinctions) and a WAM of 86.474. I was awarded the Dean's Recognition Award for "outstanding academic results" in all six semesters of my degree. I was also awarded a Linguistics Prize. In 2016, I am undertaking my Honours year (Jubilee Scholar) in the field of Linguistics.
I completed my VCE in 2012 with an ATAR of 99.65, which earned me an Australian Student Prize (presented to the top 500 students nation-wide). I was the Academic Dux of Koonung Secondary College, and Academic Subject Dux of five subjects.
In 2015, I was Highly Commended by The Undergraduate Awards, which acknowledges "the world's brightest and most innovative undergraduate students," for my paper on language development of children affected by Down syndrome.
I have studied Psychology at university level.
Experience*Not taking students in 2016*
I have seven years of tutoring experience, including three at VCE level. I have tutored VCE Psychology, Health & Human Development and English Language.
I have worked with four not-for-profit education organisations. During this time, I have: written and edited Year 12 practice exams and suggested response booklets, presented VCE seminars, run VCE exam intensives, produced VCE content for online resources, and tutored. I am presently in the process of co-authoring a VCE guide with two colleagues.
In January 2016, I volunteered at the VCE Summer School co-ordinated by the Student Union of the University of Melbourne. For Psychology, I was the Subject Co-ordinator (produced the content booklet on which classes were based, and was the point of contact for all Psychology tutors) and a Subject Tutor (taught classes of 10-15 students).
I worked with Monash Abroad as a Global Officer on my exchange program in Semester 2, 2015. In 2016, I am volunteering as part of Monash University's Peer Ambassador Leadership Program. I am both an Ambassador and a member of the Development Portfolio in this initiative, which aims to help new students make the transition from secondary school to university life.
I have a passion for education, knowledge, and continuous self-improvement. I aim to pursue a career in either higher education or academia.
I am offering tuition for Psychology 3/4, but am also happy to help with any of my Year 12 subjects when possible: Psychology , Health & Human Development , English Language , Visual Communication & Design , Further Maths , Business Management .
HobbiesMy interests include education, writing (primarily poetry), sport, philosophy, and design. I have played competitive cricket since 2003.
Majoring in Linguistics at university has also made clear my passion for language. My other major - International Studies - has encouraged me to travel the world. I am particularly interested in South-East Asia: an ever-important region.
