This is Han Laoshi, I am a fully registered Mandarin Chinese teacher who is currently teaching in a private school in Melbourne’s south eastern suburb. If you are interested in learning Chinese, either 1st, 2nd language learners， beginners, advance or VCE Chinese learners, now please follow me and let me introduce you a bit more about my teaching background:
I have experience of teaching mandarin Chinese both internationally and locally.
In China, I have 2-year experience of tutoring a group of young adults learning Chinese as their first language.
In Australia, I have received a Master of Teaching degree from University of Melbourne (1st class honours) with qualifications to teach Chinese and Chinese immersion programs.
• At community and Weekend schools in Melbourne:
I used to teach adults Chinese in a language school in the city. I have established a great rapport with the students there. Two of my students from that class have now study Chinese in China, with one of them receiving a full scholarship from Beijing Language and Culture University to learn Chinese.
I have also taught Chinese at Victorian School of Languages (VSL) where my students are all have Chinese background and aged between 12 and 16. My class is often full of joy and the students are highly engaged.
• At day school in Melbourne:
I have experience of teaching Chinese in both primary school and secondary schools from both public and private settings.
For lower secondary, I use communicative method, meaning that there is a very strong focus on the spoken languages as it is used in practical everyday situations.
For VCE, I have strong interests in teaching Chinese second language and second language advanced level students. I am familiar with the VCE Chinese written exam and detail study marking criteria. I was a VCE Chinese second language advanced Oral examiner in 2013, 2014 & 2015); also a VCE Chinese second language Written examiner in 2013, 2014 & 2015.

Selina is friendly and professional. After working with Selina I feel like my mandarin level increased a lot. At first I found speaking very difficult but she was very patient and easy to talk to. She took the time to clearly explain anything I had trouble with. When I'm back in Melbourne I will seek her out for help again.
