Education

I have earned a Ph.D. in the Theatre and Performance Department at Monash University, for undertaking which I have won two scholarships. I also have an MA in the Visual and Performing Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts of Turin and three different certifications in the English language (IELTS, FIRST, and PET).

Experience

I am currently a Lecturer in Italian Studies at Monash University (School of Literatures, Languages, Cultures, and Linguistics), teaching Italian language and European history and culture. I have been working as an Italian, Art, and Special Needs teacher in Melbourne for six years now (I.I.C. Italian Institute of Culture, C.I.S. - Centre of Italian Studies and Private Tutoring), for all subjects and Education levels (ENG and ITA). I have worked for 10 years in Italy as an Italian, Art, English, and Special Needs teacher. I have experience in preparing students for the Academic IELTS test. I have extensive experience in teaching the Italian language and culture, Art History, and Fine/Visual Arts to people of all ages. I have worked with people of various ethnic groups and linguistic backgrounds, and I am specialized in teaching children and young people with difficulties (e.g. attention deficit disorders, learning difficulties, and dyslexia). I also worked as a Private Tutor and Special Aid Teacher for a student with a psychological disability, in collaboration with Dr. Nicoletta Alberta (Psychologist and Personal Therapist) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, IT (Tertiary Education).

Hobbies

I love art and languages, literature, teaching, travelling, being immersed in Nature, swimming, and cooking. I am friendly, reliable, and very patient with my students! I love to see them enjoying the classes, improving, and becoming confident! My motto is: "Mistakes are welcome!" :-) My classes are tailored to the student's individual needs. I provide the material for most of the classes (especially IELTS and ITA), unless the student has specific material to work on. In the case of special needs students in school age, I am happy to work with the material provided by their school and to communicate with the school teachers where needed. My first and most important "rule" is to make the student feel comfortable to learn in the best possible way for them.
