EducationGold medals, best presentation award and First Class Honours in Civil and Structural Engineering, and PhD. Top performer with H1 grades in structural engineering subjects taken at the University of Melbourne.
ExperienceI have several years of experience of working as a One-on-one Tutor, Group Tutor as well as University Lecturer. I have successfully tutored a wide range of subjects ranging from Science, Maths, English (IELTS) to advanced level mechanics of Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, to both the students and practicing engineers. However, these days I mostly tutor structures related subjects and occasionally hydraulics and geotechnical engineering as well. I operate tools such as AutoCAD, SAP, STAAD-Pro, SpaceGass, Strand7, LS-DYNA, MATLAB, etc. Now I have been working as a Tutor of undergraduate and post-graduate subjects at the University of Melbourne. I am a private tutor of many other students. I have tutored more than 100 local and international students from UniMelb, RMIT, Swinburne, VicUni, etc. I offer special discount when students come in a group of three or more -- I generally receive exceptionally satisfied response from my students. Prior to my teaching, the students were generally nervous about their Mechanics, Structures or Dynamics subject, even though they were regular in class. On the contrary, after spending a couple of casual hours with me, they gradually start gaining their confidence. Most of them often reveal, "the subject is actually not as difficult as it seemed to me before!". As reference, 1. Dealing with Damped and Undamped Free and Force Vibrations of any sort of Engineering Systems, including the derivation of Equations of Motion by Equilibrium and Energy Principles, (2) Rapid techniques of calculating Shear Force, Bending Moment and Elastic Curves, (3) Issues of Transmissibility of disturbing forces associated with central heating pump or rotating motor at the basement of a building, and (4) Vibration Control of sensitive non-structural devices, were among the topics some of my students were so struggling; however, they became champion of the same after learning from me!
HobbiesTeaching, Research, Reading, Making New Friends & Networking, Entrepreneurship, Charity for Empowerment, etc. I am an enthusiastic, polite and kind person and love spending time with my students and colleagues and see their level of understanding transformed through sharing the knowledge and skills I have gained through decades of academic hard work with emphasis on concept based learning. I think I have enough patience to kindly instruct even very weak students if they ask to repeat several times. I love teaching a mixture both bright and weak students. Why should weak students seek a tutor if they know everything or if they could learn very quickly on their own?! I believe without this attitude and understanding, a tutor can never transform his/her weak students. I find satisfaction by hearing that my students passed the subject and with high marks or found my input useful in industry later on. I take my students problems from their perspective but not through my expert eyes only and follow the simple and catchy way to learn difficult things and yet quickly.
