Experience

I have become a private English tutor in China. My students are in junior high school. My TOEFL-iBT is 98 and my IELTS (Academic Stream) is overall 7.5. I aspire to become a tutor in that it can improve my communicative skills and interpersonal skills. I have tried many careers in Australia except tutors. Since tutors' task is to provide needy people with extra help, in return I believe I can benefit from it by getting involved in because it involves a wide variety of skills from curriculum planning to self-assessment. I am from Shanghai, China. So I have the confidence of speaking and writing Chinese well and fluently. In addition, I have lived in Australia for almost four years and now come back to Shanghai, China. I have the confidence to teach students English, too. I have taken part in lots of volunteering work in RMIT and beyond. I am a student representative in RMIT, consulting between teachers and students. I am a mentor in RMIT, helping international students to get a successful transition to Australian university life by inviting them to join pre-designed activities. I am also a member of Chinese Debating Group in RMIT. While debating against my competitors, I can practise my Chinese speaking skills and logics. Beyond that, I am a volunteer in Australia Red Cross. Now I am back in China, working as a translator in a translation company. I still wish to provide students in need with considerate tutoring services if I have the spare time.
