Education

I have a bachelor's degree in law with honors. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I earned my bachelor's degree at Melbourne University Law School.

Experience

I have tutored various subjects, including evidence law, criminal law, English, and classical studies. I have taught seminars at colleges, and I am passionate about teaching. I have offers of admission to master's law programs at Columbia University, New York University, London School of Economics, and more. But, I accepted the offer from Melbourne University because of its outstanding law school. My professional experience includes practicing as a litigation solicitor in a top-tier commercial law firm. I have appeared in the District Court and High Court. Currently, I specialize in general civil litigation, employment law, and intellectual property law. From 2012 to 2013, I interned at The Hague Centre of Strategic Studies (HCSS) in the Netherlands after completing a law exchange at Utrecht University. At HCSS, I did qualitative and quantitative research on global and strategic political issues. I have exceptional leadership skills and experience. I mentor a talented but underprivileged secondary-school student for the First Foundation. I was a delegate at the Model UN Security Council Conferences, and I was the student representative of the Board of Trustees at Selwyn College. I have been published many times, including the New Zealand Yearbook of International Law and Chapman Tripp's website. I am fluent in English and Serbo-Croatian. I'm an intermediate French speaker. I have studied up to Stage 3, and I am currently continuing my education. I am also at the intermediate level in Spanish, having studied at Stage 2. I have been involved in the community extensively. I was the volunteer advisor at Auckland Community Law Centre and a committee member for Auckland Young Lawyers. I am a member of the Auckland Lawyers Association. I have won numerous academic awards and scholarships throughout my secondary and college education, including Top Student in International Law, the David R. Mummery Scholarship in Law, the Achievement with Excellence, and many more.

Hobbies

I was born in the former Yugoslavia and moved to New Zealand as a child. As an immigrant, I quickly understood the importance of education to get ahead in life. Academic pursuits were a priority for me, as they are now. That said, I am a well-rounded individual who loves sport (I played premier netball throughout high school), dancing (Latin, Jazz, and Hip Hop), music, and films. I also love to travel, seeing how other people live and enjoying their culture. I currently volunteer at Refugee Legal.
