Akira A.
Private tutor in Melbourne, Australia
Education
During high school, I attended Japanese weekend school from Year 7 to 10 and completed VCE at Princess Hill Secondary College. I then completed a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology and Japanese at the University of Melbourne, as well as doing a study abroad program in Japan on a scholarship at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
Experience
I have no formal prior experience working as a tutor but I have maintained high distinction averages in both my Japanese and psychology classes throughout my university career. As a result, I believe that I can offer important tips and insights to students, not only about learning, memorizing, and understanding content, but also for assignments and exams. In addition to this, I am half Japanese and while I might not be completely fluent, I come from a home where my father mainly speaks Japanese. I therefore, have a natural ear for and understanding of the language which has been an asset and helped me greatly in my studies. I would like the opportunity to pass this understanding on to others.

Hobbies
I have just finished my undergraduate degree, so as of writing this, I have more free time than I usually would. I usually like to spend this time on music. I play in two bands and love to write music, as well as play/tour around the country with them. Additionally, I love all things Japan - and go back there on an almost yearly basis to visit family and hang out. As for psychology, I am begininning to look at volunteer work for my honors course starting next year. *note: prices can be negotiable*
