Qinglan D.
Private tutor in Melbourne, Australia
Education
I am currently an Accounting major at the University of Melbourne.
Experience
My first language is Mandarin Chinese, though I'm fluent in Cantonese Chinese as well. My father used to be a Chinese teacher in a Chinese high school, so I was influenced to have a strong interest in Chinese literature from an early age. Before I took IB (International Baccalaureate) in an international school in year 11, I studied at a regular Chinese senior high school and always did well in Chinese, winning several prizes in writing competitions. In my final exam of IB, I gained full marks in standard level Chinese, which I chose to study as my first language. I can use my firsthand knowledge of Chinese to help students of all ages and ability levels learn it as a foreign language. Whether you want to know how to write Chinese characters or interpret classical Chinese literature, I can help!

Hobbies
Why do I love Chinese so much? The most important reason should be I always enjoy to be a story teller, or creator. Especially creating Kongfu story based on the ancient background. Unfortunately, although I always have a lot of ideas, I haven't finished the writing of any novels. But I still keep working on them. I enjoy music as well, especially Chinese classical music. This year, I chose a subject called 'Chinese music ensemble' in the university, and chose to play Dizi, a bamboo flute, which was a traditional Chinese instrument. Besides, I could also speak Cantonese because I am Cantonese.
