Education
I completed IB at Carey in Melbourne in 2017 with a perfect score of 45. My HL subjects were Biology, Chemistry and Literature, and my SL subjects were History, Maths and German. I did my EE in History. In 2018 I'm excited to be starting undergraduate Medicine at Monash University.
Experience
I have never charged for tutoring in the past, but have tutored maths, literacy and IB chemistry within a network of family and friends, including some with learning difficulties such as dyslexia. I have also volunteered as a tutor for refugee and migrant children during 2016 and 2017 with the Fitzroy Reading Club, a commitment I am continuing also through this year. I've enjoyed these experiences and would love to expand my tutoring skills and work with new people. Beyond tutoring IB subjects, I would be happy also to work with younger students on mathematics and literacy. This is where much of my past experience lies, and this also ties in nicely with my work as a swimming teacher, a part-time job which I have had for 4 years and am continuing this year. I teach predominantly 6-12 year olds in this job and love working with kids.

Hobbies
I take a positive and fun attitude to learning, because I know that hard work pays off best when it's accompanied by a genuine interest in your subjects and having fun with them. For instance, I picked IB History above 'easier' humanities subjects because it's a subject I really enjoy and am passionate about. All throughout my IB studies, I put effort into being well-rounded and keeping healthy. In terms of physical activity, I love swimming, running and yoga, as well as the social element of netball (although I'm not particularly gifted!!). I also love reading and literature, and discussing texts with others, which I hope to be able to do as a tutor. This feeds into my enjoyment also of creative writing, which has been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember! I also enjoy playing piano - it doesn't come easily to me but I find it a great challenge. I stopped doing exams after AMEB Level 7, and can now play for enjoyment which is lots of fun.
