Private tutor in Melbourne, Australia

Education

I graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Management. I have a Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE- English, and Mandarin) from the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters. I graduated from Caulfield Grammar School in 2015.

Experience

I have three years of experience teaching exam techniques for VCE Chinese at holiday school (listening, essay writing, and oral exams) first language/second language (advanced). I haven't had any negative feedback from students or parents at my current position. I can solve any question about the VCAA exams because I learned Chinese First Language by myself, and I achieved the highest score that a student could achieve: Chinese First Language 3/4, VCE exam 2014 scoring 50 raw, scaled up to 51. I received the Victorian Premier's Award in 2015 for Chinese First Language. My teaching style is casual, relaxed, yet passionate and persistent. I have my own set of problem-solving skills that are tailored for VCE exams and SAC. I have used these techniques to help more than 50 students at the holiday school I currently work for. Student opinions are the most important in my teaching style. As a language tutor, I am deeply aware of how crucial it is to understand the students' logic and mindset in language studies and exams. I always want to be aligned with my students when writing essays, knowing exactly what they want to express and nurturing their language skills accurately and precisely to score the highest marks possible.

Hobbies

Teaching is a joyful hobby for me:) I spend most of my spare time other than university writing up my own teaching materials for 3/4 Chinese studies. I am serious about turning teaching from a hobby to a career in the future. My next goal is to gain experiences from student collaboration and participation, so I can integrate students' voices into my unique teaching style. Moreover, I spend other time read Chinese articles and critiques to facilitates me modifying student's essays and speech scripts, backing me up much contextual knowledge. Other than uni studies, I like to challenge new styles of cookings and bakings to feed my family every week. Exploring new places and having road trips around Melbourne is a good idea too. I go to gym everyday to keep fit.
