Currently studying my first year of a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. Graduated from MLC in Melbourne as IB Dux Secundus in 2017 with a score of 44 (Notional ATAR of 99.85). Earned the school prizes (distinctions) for IB HL Maths, Economics, English, Physics and Chemistry. Earned high 7s in all my IB subjects Maths HL 89% (perfect score on the IA) Chemistry HL 83% (39/40 on Paper 1) Economics HL 85% Physics SL 86% English A Literature SL 89% (Perfect scores in IOP, IOC, and Paper 1) French B SL 92% (Perfect score in Paper 2) Extended Essay in English Literature (A - 36/36)
Experience
This is my first year tutoring, but I have consistently been assisting my friends and explaining concepts to them over the past two years to help them with the IB curriculum. I particularly want to tutor IB Maths, Chemistry, Economics, and Physics. I adored these subjects and feel I have the ability to explain concepts in a different manner than your teachers may be able to. I am a very visual learner and so often explain things in very visual methods. I am also happy to help with strategies for the IOC and Paper 1 in English A Literature, as well as advice for English Extended Essays. I’m interested in helping you work through specific areas you find challenging so you can really understand the content instead of rote learning. I know having a deep understanding of the topics was critical for me in the exams. I was able to balance over 300 hours of CAS activities alongside my IB Diploma, and would love to show you how you can study effectively without losing your social life/stopping participating in things you enjoy.
