I earned my undergraduate degree in applied physics and a post-graduate diploma in education.
Experience
I have ten years of tutoring experience working with high school students in the fields of mathematics and physics as well as three years of experience teaching these subjects full time in a high school setting. During my tenure as an instructor I was also in charge of preparing students for the Mathematics Olympiad. I currently tutor students in these subject areas. Additionally, I can converse fluently in both English and Mandarin Chinese and I tutor students who are taking all levels of Mandarin. Working with a student in a one-on-one learning environment gives an instructor the opportunity to focus on the specific academic concerns of the student. Personalizing the content of the sessions in this way often makes the learning process more engaging for the student and helps them to progress more efficiently towards their learning goals.
