I obtained a bachelor's degree in biomedical science with distinction. I am also currently studying to earn a master's of biotechnology from The University of Melbourne.
Experience
I have tutored more than 30 students, and I have more than 500 hours of tutoring experience from my 4 years as a tutor. I achieved a high ATAR at the end of my schooling career and topped my biology and math classes. I have seen six students graduate with an ATAR above 90, but my most significant accomplishment was my aid in taking a low B average student to straight A's in her final year. I believe that patience and compassion are the most important qualities of an excellent tutor. As such, they have become the main focus of my teaching approach. These attributes have allowed me to keep positive long-term relationships with my students, one totaling four years. Another focus of my teaching approach is fostering a love for mathematics in my students. Often disliked, mathematics can be tedious and boring when taught systematically. My goal is to bring a sense of achievement and fun to math to have students mastering equations in no time. Lastly, I ensure that I teach proper time management skills to my students so that my time with them is not only beneficial for an hour per week, but for the rest of their lives. I have received feedback from my past students detailing my fast and efficient manner during my sessions. My services include providing pre-planned lessons as well as assistance on school-assigned tasks to strengthen weak subjects and build upon stronger ones. I also foster academic, emotional, and social growth in teens. I am qualified to tutor VCE Maths Methods, VCE Chemistry, VCE Biology, and VCE English.
