Martin D.
Private tutor in Melbourne, Australia
Education
My qualifications are a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University, an Honors Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Education, and a Ph.D. from the University of Adelaide, a Ph.D. from Flinders University, and a Royal Society of the Arts/Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults from Cambridge University. I majored in Philosophy and Literature and minored in Psychology. I achieved all High Distinctions and Distinctions throughout my undergraduate and graduate education and won several academic prizes.
Experience
I am an established academic presently holding two university appointments where I assist students with university work. I am semi-retired, so I have spare time to assist graduate and undergraduate students with their academic writing. I wrote the well-regarded and widely-used text "Study Skills for International Postgraduate Students" (Palgrave, 2011). I am presently an Associate Professor/Principal Fellow in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne, and a Senior Learning Advisor at Federation University with a specialty in helping graduate students at the doctoral level. At Federation University I run classes in academic literacy and occasionally teach Logic and Reasoning. I was an IELTS Examiner for many years. I have published six books and around 90 scholarly articles.
