Experience

Classroom Teacher Years 6-12 Learning Support (EAL, Literacy, Mathematics) Tutoring I am an experienced teacher and highly rated academic graduate. Currently undertaking a Master of Learning Intervention in order to work within the areas of specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and similar). Qualified and experienced in working with ESL/EAL students utilising a number of proven methods to generate positive learning results. My experiences include working with students with IEPs, assisting in the identification of literacy or numeracy related learning disorders, and directly addressing significant deficits in learning and language. My Psychology major, and educational qualifications makes me an excellent choice for university students needing assistance with their academic voice, and/or report writing, especially in the psychology discipline.

Hobbies

Born and raised in Singapore, I permanently moved to Australia in 2002. A native English speaker, I am also conversant in Bahasa. A mother of 3 children, two of whom have ADHD. This intimate relationship has fuelled my passion for teaching and specifically assisting those students with learning and/or language disorders. Learning should be exciting, interesting and fun; not scary, stressful and confusing. Often it is how we engage with the content, but also how the content is presented to us. I come highly recommended from students, parents and the schools I have worked with. I am happy to provide references upon request.
