I attended the University of Melbourne to earn my Bachelor of Arts in English and Cultural Studies. I also earned a graduate diploma in secondary education from RMIT University. There, I studied English and humanities.

I have more than 10 years of teaching experience in Victorian high schools. I have taught English, humanities, digital design, and philosophy. I also have 2 years of experience teaching at an international school in Beijing, China. I have International Baccalaureate experience and experience teaching ESOL students as well. My strengths as an educator are empathy and creativity. A lifetime of adventure and hard work has fostered these traits. I have lived and worked in big cities, collaborated on creative and community projects in Brazil and Jamaica, and made a film that aired on national television. I recorded three albums with a punk blues band, survived the Black Saturday Bushfire, and started my own educational workshops company.
