Education
I did undergraduate studies in Arts/Law in Melbourne (Monash University) and then completed an MA in Berlin, Germany. The program was a complete 5-year combined undergraduate and graduate program -- my major was Chinese Studies and my two minors were Islamic Studies and Philosophy. I'm currently completing a PhD in Anthropology/Islamic Studies.
Experience
I love languages and teaching. I was raised bilingual in Australia (English/German) and have worked as an English teacher for over 13 years, first in China and then in Berlin. Since 2008 I've been an English instructor at the Technical University of Berlin, and since 2014 I've been focused mainly on teaching Academic Writing. Parallel to this I've worked as a private text coach and proofreader since about 2012. I've helped students, lecturers, and professors from a range of disciplines improve their papers, journal articles, book chapters, BA and MA theses, and PhD dissertations.

Hobbies
I'm very interested in studying foreign languages (I speak German, Chinese, some French, and have studied a little Arabic) and beyond that anything relating to intercultural communication and multicultural dynamics. I'm also a hobby musician who plays the double bass, mainly in amateur and community orchestras.
