Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Psychological Science

Experience

I am a passionate and knowledgeable tutor, who wants nothing but the very best for each and every one of my students. I have recently completed a Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Psychological Science, and am commencing my Masters in International Business Law this year. I am available to tutor in English, English Literature, Essay Writing, Legal Studies and Psychology. I have had notable success as a student myself, and understand and appreciate the difficulties that most students face. I have what I consider first hand knowledge of the difficulties that students may face whilst studying, and in this way, I believe I am extensively equipped with the skills and knowledge to assist them. I always strive to accommodate my student's needs, and adapt my teaching methods to best suit the student's learning style. I believe that in order to assist a student in the best possible way, you must have the patience and understanding. It is only when this is achieved, that the student can really comprehend the learned material, thereby enhancing their academic abilities allowing them to truly excel. Success is achievable for all and does not require any special “gifted” ability but rather a determined work ethic, perseverance and enthusiasm towards your studies; something I strive to foster in all my students. Having taught a variety of students of all different levels in the past, the immense improvement seen in many students is evidence of this, together with dedication and commitment to the course. Under my direction, I will enable students to not only develop a full understanding of the concepts in the VCAA study design, but also challenge and broaden their knowledge with some relevant information beyond the course. As a result, the VCAA exams no longer feel as daunting, but rather, much simpler than one would otherwise feel! Furthermore, I will reveal my personal tips and strategies for approaching the VCAA exams to ensure that my students feel confident not only with the content but with the idea of ‘exam’ conditions and stress. My finely-honed and flexible approach includes substantial resources to aid each individual student, whether newly tackling a task or looking for extra engagement, to build their skills beyond their current level. During my sessions, I provide worksheets, notes and assist the student with any homework or assessments that they may have. I have 6 years of tutoring experience and have achieved great success with many different students. I have ensured that all my students have achieved an 80+ ATAR, with 90% of my students receiving a 94 ATAR or above. Many of my students have gone on to achieve merits, and dux of their school, with approximately 10% each year receiving 99+ unscaled. On average I have improved test scores by 60% and have helped students move from a failing to passing grade. Currently, I am taking on a new cohort of students for 2017. Places are limited, so get in fast. I have based in Keilor, and can do some home visits depending on location. I do both individual and group tutoring, and offer weekly group seminars.
