Education
I am a research scientist with many years of experience in biomedical research. I obtained the Bachelor of Biomedicine from the University of Melbourne, majoring in Microbiology, Infection and Immunology. During my third year of undergraduate, I took part in the Biomedical Science Research Project, where I studied Epigenetic control of CD8 T cell cytokine function, at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Melbourne University. A year later I completed the Bachelor of Biomedicine (Degree with Honours) at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI), which involved studying Dendritic Cell development at the single cell level. I completed a Masters of Philosophy at Monash university, investigating B cells and antivenom. I worked for many institutes and most recently at a biotechnology startup, investigating Extracellular Vesicles. I can tutor online via ZOOM, if preferable.
Experience
During Honours I supervised an undergraduate research opportunities program (UROP) student, where I taught the student basic laboratory techniques and protocols, starting with the use of a pipette. At my current role as a research assistant, I am also supervising the new Honours student in our lab. I am teaching the new student general and lab specific techniques.
