Education
I hold my PhD from the University of Melbourne and my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Genoa (Italy). My doctoral studies were on bilingualism and my Master's studies were in Modern Languages and Cultures for International Communication. I majored in French, Russian and English. I studied Language Acquisition and Language Teaching, in particular, my PhD and Master’s theses were on child bilingualism, so I deeply analysed second language acquisition. I studied also at the State University of Saint Petersburg and at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow, I have language certificates in French, Russian and English.
Experience
I have been tutoring language and linguistics subjects at the University of Melbourne for three years. I taught Italian and French to children in Melbourne, to adults in Melbourne, Italy and Moscow. I held a course of Russian at the University of Genoa for 2 years. I have been giving private lessons of English, Russian, French and Italian for 7 years, both to children and to adults. I am always happy to discuss programs and activities with my students, as I want my lessons to be fun and stimulating and I know everyone has their own learning style. I have experience both with adults and with children, very different approaches, both of them very stimulating and challenging! I would like to instill my students a love for languages and the cultures they represent. I always try to understand my students' motivations, in order to adapt my teaching method to their needs and to make them active participants in our lessons.
