Experience

I have been tutoring for the past three years in Legal Studies units 3 and 4. I received a perfect study score in the subject when I completed Legal Studies in 2011. I love tutoring. It's always very rewarding to assist students by enabling them to achieve to the best of their ability. Notwithstanding the academic rigour of year 12, the number one piece of advice I give my students is that Legal Studies is all formulas. Legal Studies is about memorising key formulas and requirements that examiners are looking for and being able to apply these in the exams. Once students grasp this concept, the subject becomes very straight-forward. My own little mantra for VCE is that VCE is not about your academic ability, but about your ability to apply what you have learned in the formulaic response that examiners are looking for. This is my approach and assisted me to succeed very highly [perfect study score] and I still employ it at university within my law degree. I am a current senior law student and received an ATAR of 98.9. I retain a very good average in my current university Degree at Monash. I am an active member on the Monash Law Students Society as the Social Justice and Equity Publications Officer. I have written a 100-page publication guide on social justice and equity within the law and have very good written and communications skills. I also have a passion for international law and have a very thorough understanding of the Australian domestic legal system within the international legal platform. Not only have I received very high marks in International law, I was also awarded the scholarship to represent Monash Law School to participate in the Harvard World Model United Nations Conference in Brussels, Belgium in March 2014. This conference not only honed my debating and formal writing skills but gave me an in-depth understanding of the UN and Australia's key roles within the international political sphere. I love education and I love tutoring. I have a passion for learning and love sharing that with equally passionate young students.
