I am a business strategy consultant, publisher and entrepreneur, having worked for a global accounting and management consulting firm, Australia's largest investment bank and both built and advised early stage businesses and start-ups. Most recently, I founded and launched HOTDESK in 2013. The platform is an online marketplace connecting surplus office and desk space with businesses, consultancies and entrepreneurs that need it. Since launch, HOTDESK secured private equity investment, national exposure in the Australian Financial Review and The Australian, was featured by Microsoft as an example of Australian innovation and secured some publicly-listed clients including serviced office giant Servcorp. Prior to this, I developed skills and competencies in the risk management space with the global diversified financial services company Macquarie Group. I gained exposure to equity and debt capital markets, commodities, funds management and retail banking and developed a fundamental understanding of the underlying capital and derivative pricing models supporting the group's regulatory and internal financial risk management processes. I had moved to Macquarie from Ernst & Young's Advisory practice in Melbourne where I developed strengths in the controls transformation, business process re-engineering and both the internal and external audit space. There, I delivered outcomes for top ASX-listed clients across the resources, telecommunications, technology, power and utilities industries as well as several NYSE and NASDAQ-listed clients. I frequently publish articles about self improvement and the startup ecosystem and have had my works featured across a range of reputable online media. I want to give back where I can and help develop young minds and help them see that they are only limited by the extent of their imagination and their efforts.
