Education
I earned a Ph.D. in cancer immunology from the University of Melbourne. I also have a Master of Science in Immunology from Imperial College in London and a Bachelor of Science in Immunology from the University of Leicester.
Experience
I have a strong background in immunology with experience in microbiology and virology. I have a strong background in basic biology and science. I am currently researching the use of immunotherapy to enhance the immune system to detect and combat cancer. I previously studied immunology at the undergraduate level. I have also been a researcher assistant in Australia and the Ku before starting my Ph.D. Last year I won the best student poster prize for the royal Melbourne Health week, and this year I won the best student oral presentation at the Peter MacCallum Student Symposium. I also won a poster prize at the 2015 1st Japanese-Australian meeting on cell death and was a finalist for the Science in Public award. I am passionate about communicating and teaching not just my science knowledge but all science to a wider audience. I believe that scientists need to continually engage with the wider community to raise the level of science education.
