Experience

Private tutoring (2011 - present), I currently own and operate 'Simplified Study' a small tutoring agency catering to all students and for a variety of subjects and needs. With 8 years of experience and over 10,000 hours of tutorials I now lead a team of 25 tutors (many past students of mine) while still tutoring my own student list. In-class volunteer tutor (Craigieburn Secondary College), 2011 - 2012 I returned to my graduating high school to provide much needed free tutoring and mentoring to VCE mathematics and Physics classes. This included one-on-one help, group and formal teaching to the class. Subject Coordinator, tutor (Biology), VCESS, 2013 I was selected as a volunteer, managing a team of a dozen tutors for VCE Biology over the course of the fortnight long summer program. This included authoring summary notes, preparing 12 lesson plans, managing a team of tutors and teaching the VCE Biology courses in their entirety in just 6 hours. Subject Manager, Tutor trainer, lecturer (biology), SWOT, 2012, 2013 and 2014. For three consecutive years I was chosen to manage the Biology team for the MUHI SWOT program, given my experience and expertise in the field. This included authoring exam revision materials, lesson plans, training a team of tutors, lecturing and teaching classes. Masterclasses Coordinator, SWOT 2015 This year I have continued to develop and expand on my experience with education, coordinating a new project aimed at forming close relationships with underrepresented public schools and their VCE departments. I manage a team of 40 volunteer tutors and subject managers in delivering termly masterclasses to year 12 students across 8 different subjects. In this role I have worked to expand the project to 7 schools in just 2 months with excellent student feedback! SWOT Manager, SWOT 2015 This year I was promoted to managing the entire SWOT portfolio whilst maintaining my position as Masterclasses Coordinator. I manage all three of the educational support programs including Masterclasses, Rural Outreach Virtual Tutoring and SWOT Week Revision Lectures.

Hobbies

I am a motorbike enthusiast and enjoy spending the summer riding out to the coast or into the mountains and the winter keeping up to date with the MotoGP season. I also enjoy reading, cooking and playing guitar. I'm also guilty of marathoning TV series for a number of hours I'd rather not say.
