Education
I earned my bachelor's with honors at the Darlington College of Arts in the UK. I completed my Diploma in Education at La Trobe University. I have a master's in Research in Writing from Victoria University and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Novel Writing at LTU.
Experience
I have been a secondary teacher for over 20 years. I have taught English at all secondary year levels to VCE, as well as History, Health, Theatre Studies, and Dance. I have supervised an IB extended essay, and have taught creative electives at a tertiary level. I have a current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration, which includes a Police Check, and a Working with Children check. I am a warm and friendly teacher. My focus is working with the needs of the student and student-focused learning. I work at the student's pace and their level but constantly monitoring to ensure they reach their goals and beyond. I have a good grasp of their learning and their acquired skills. My strengths are developing student's VCE essay skills, and literacy at a primary level. I can help students build grammar, pronunciation, reading comprehension, analytical thinking, and other valuable skills.
