Experience
My skills are primarily are in critical thinking and working with ideas. I have proven skills in recognising the potential of people and ultimately, encouraging this potential to be realized and put to good use. I am highly organised and enjoy helping others to focus and complete tasks with a ‘can do’ organised and systematic approach. I am an enthusiastic mature-age graduate with a commitment to lifelong learning. I have life experience as a parent of three young adult children, all of whom have completed tertiary studies; I have experience with TAFE, VCAL, Diploma and Degree level education systems. I understand the role of being a parent and being a university student in the current educational context. I have acted as a student mentor at Swinburne University for first year students. I have 14 years of practical workplace experience in community services and can readily apply my academic knowledge to real life examples. I can be reasonably flexible with my availability and suggest potential student-mentees or their guardians contact me to discuss how we can coordinate consultation methods and times.
