Experience
I have 3 years of tutoring experience with high school students, and have worked as an Introductory Macroeconomics tutor at the University of Melbourne in 2014. I have obtained a H1 average in Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), as well as completed an econometrics-related thesis that focuses on the relationship between immigrant selection criteria and mental wellbeing. In addition, I have obtained an ATAR score of 99.75 for VCE and have obtained study scores over 40 in Math Methods and Further Maths (I did not study Specialist Maths). Tutoring is a great passion for me and is an extremely rewarding experience, as it allows me to provide assistance to students to achieve their fullest potential. Having gone through both high school and the University experience, I have experienced the difficulties which students have possibly faced in their coursework. It would be a great opportunity for me to assist students in understanding their lecture/ class material, or going through the tutorial/ homework questions so that they could gain more confidence in learning their subjects. Note for university students: I do not provide assistance to assignments, but only with lecture materials and tutorials. My philosophy in tutoring is that students should have a good understanding of lecture materials/ tutorials before tackling assignments, and should work hard on the assignments before approaching anyone! If you are honestly stuck, it is still probably best to get hints/ tips from the University tutors instead of me, as remember- I know nothing about the assignment before meeting you. The only time when I can provide assistance with assignments is when assignments have been corrected and the solutions have been released.
