Tess Bartlett has a BA in Psychology and Criminology, a First Class Honours and an MA in Criminology from Victoria University of Wellington. She is currently a PhD candidate at Monash University studying the experiences of incarcerated primary carer fathers in Victoria, Australia.
Experience
Tess was a tutor in criminology at Victoria University of Wellington and Monash Universtiy between 2009 and 2017 for a variety of topics (including Prisons, Power & Justice; Prisons, Power & Punishment; State Crime; and Introduction to Criminology). Tess is an aspiring leader and loves learning, growing and passing on knowledge to others. Having worked and studied in Academic Institutions for over ten years she has a wealth of experience that will see students who work with her shine. Tess has also been a research assistant since 2007 working on a number of different projects on the impact of incarceration for parents and families. In 2016 Tess was awarded the best postgraduate presentation at the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology Postgraduate and Early Career Researcher Conference In 2007 Tess was awarded the Ryochi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (RSYLFF) Scholarship, a prestigious national scholarship for Masters students at Victoria University. In 2006 Tess won the John Robson Prize in Criminology in her Honors year.
