I earned an art teaching diploma from Newcastle University and a graduate degree in painting from the University of New South Wales College of Fine Arts. I have additionally earned a national diploma in design and illustration from London University.
Experience
I have been a high school art teacher for many years and was the head of the department at Wisbech Girls Grammar School in Cambridgeshire. I've also taught primary, secondary, technical, and adult art education as well as drawing for an art school. I currently tutor students of all ages and artistic abilities in painting and drawing. When teaching an art class, it is necessary to provide general instruction that is applicable for all of the students. While individual attention is possible, the interactions are limited and entire lessons cannot be built around the needs of a particular student. With one-on-one art tutoring, there is greater instructional flexibility and every lesson is created to address the artistic needs of the student I am working with.
