Tristan E.

Private tutor in Melbourne, Australia

Education

My educational background includes a PhD in Global, Urban and Social Studies, as well as several other less advanced qualifications. The details are as follows: VCE (1992); Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sociology with First Class Honours (LaTrobe); (1999); Graduate Diploma of Education (Monash) (2004); (Diploma of Freelance Journalism (Morris Journalism Academy) (2009); PhD in Global, Urban and Social Studies (RMIT) (2015)

Experience

In the past I have successfully privately tutored VCE English and History, and also private tuition in tertiary Sociology. I'm willing to help with other paths such as the International Baccalaureate also but don't have practical experience there specifically. And I am capable of taking up either Secondary or Tertiary tuition if that is what you need. I think it's also worth mentioning I have a significant amount of experience freelance writing. And I have had chapters published in various books on social/political commentary over the years. My PhD means I have had to specialise for many years - and I am expert in fields such as left-wing politics, and key theorists such as Karl Marx, Ferdinand Lassalle and others. I am willing to read up on your particular field of study in order to assist you and have a lot of practical and theoretical experience thereafter to advise on various angles for essays for instance. My experience is more with regard political theory and history than, say, Australian political institutions and processes. Though I'm strong on policy and political parties specifically. And I am willing to work with you on your field of study. I have a lot of practical and academic experience which should enable me to adapt to your field of study.

Hobbies

My interests are numerous and include: Political theory and history; electronic music; keyboard and guitar; freelance writing and blogging; computer gaming; Australian politics; Left-wing Politics. nb: nb: a charge would need to be negotiated if I need to engage in extra study to familiarise myself with your specific area of study if that it necessary as well. Although I do have a fairly broad area of interest given my extensive study history. A discount is available if tuition is carried out over the internet (without travel).
