Sam S.
Private tutor in Melbourne, Australia
Education
I'm currently a third year Computer Science PhD student at The University of Melbourne. My research is focused on search personalization in microblog environments. Before that I worked as a software engineer at a leading IT company in Sri Lanka, where I used mainly Java technologies (GWT, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, jQuery) for software development. I did my undergrads at The University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in Computer Science where I graduated with a first class honours. I was ranked the 4th in my batch where my GPA was 3.88 out of 4.25.
Experience
I have tutored several students in the past in Java and Python and they all have been very satisfied with my service. Those were mainly about helping and giving guidence to students with their projects, when they are stuck. I have also worked as a casual tutor and demonstrator for COMP30023 (Computer Systems) in the Semester 1 2016 and currently working as a demonstrator/lab instructor for COMP90041 (Programming and Software Development) at the university of Melbourne. I want to be a tutor as I like interacting with people and like helping them do better with their studies/work through my knowledge and experiences. I would love to teach programming/database related subjects but will try to teach any computer science related subject.
