Experience
I have been a sessional tutor at Swinburne University's Faculty of Design (Melbourne) since 2009 and worked full time for Swinburne Unilink's Diploma of Design since 2017. I have taken mainly first year Communication Design units in that time; such as Introduction to Communication Design, Typography, Drawing, Photography, Branding, and Design Studio. If you are not familiar with these units, let's just say I love teaching the basic principles of graphic design such as composition, working with image and text, typography, etc. I also love teaching drawing and am an accomplished children's book illustrator. All of the 40 or so books I have illustrated were drawn by hand using pen and ink, and either watercolour or Gauche, so I have lots of experience in traditional drawing methods. I use Adobe's InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom Classic, and Photoshop software to make my living. I've been a self employed designer since graduating from Swinny in 1986 so I have a lot of experience in running a small business.
