Education
I have a postgraduate teaching qualification from the University of Melbourne, and am a registered Chinese Mandarin and Japanese teacher with 15+ years experience in VCE and IB studies. I completed my degree study in Japan, and worked professionally in the country for nine years. I possess JLPT Level 1 (the highest) with the native-speaker level of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in the language. I am a native speaker of Chinese Mandarin, with a wealth of experience in VCE assessment for First, Second Advance and Second Language levels.
Experience
I am an accredited Chinese/Japanese interpreter and translator, with extensive experience in teaching both languages to UNIVERSITY STUDENTS and BUSINESS PEOPLE as well. I am also a course material developer and assessor for the Australian Defense Force Language School for both languages. I have helped many students to achieve a RAW score of 40+ in the Japanese and Chinese exams. FACE-TO-FACE & ONLINE TUITION - weekly private one on one, or small group (up to 3 students) tuition tailored to your needs, with a variety of learning materials provided. Short-term tuition during school holidays may also be available. ONLINE TUITION: - Planning for written tasks, e.g. structure, ideas, writing style, text type, grammatical patterns - Proofreading/editing essays and scripts for Oral General Conversation and Detailed Study LOCATION: Tuition takes place at Glen Waverley, Melbourne. Other locations and home tuition may be negotiated for groups. Online services provided over Zoom.
