Education

I am a 6th year Master of Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Melbourne with an H2A average. I was accepted into the Tokyo Institute of Technology exchange program for my final semester, which is currently delayed due to COVID-19. I graduated with Second Class Honours Division A (H2A) at the end of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Melbourne. The subjects I completed include first and second-year advanced physics, accelerated mathematics, programming, and subjects in electrical, software, and mechanical engineering. I also completed some finance breadth subjects.

Experience

At school, I obtained an IB score of 44, equivalent to a 99.85 ATAR. I also achieved 7s in Mathematics HL, Physics HL, Chemistry HL, ITGS SL, Spanish Ab Initio SL, and an A grade in TOK. The courses I took as a university undergraduate include Physics Advanced 1 and 2 (H1, H2A), Quantum and Thermal Physics (H1), Engineering Systems Design 1 and 2 (H1s), Accelerated Mathematics 1 and 2, Foundations of Computing (H1), Engineering Mathematics (H2A), Engineering Mechanics (H2A), and Foundations of Electrical Networks (H2A). As a postgraduate student, I took Dynamics (H2A), Advanced Dynamics, Control Systems, Advanced Control Systems, Embedded Systems Design (H1), Robotics Systems H2A which involved designing and constructing a robot to stack a Jenga tower, Sensor Systems (H1), and the Mechatronics Capstone Project H1 for which I designed and constructed drones and a system to 'piggyback' and deploy drones. I was the previous winner of the Endeavour Boeing Award of 2019 for the best innovative capstone project in a relevant field. In 2018, I also completed a Robotics study abroad course in Latvia involving the design and construction of a robot. My tutoring experience includes working as the Lead Engineering Demonstrator and Tutor, in addition to working as an exam marker and Study Session Leader for first and second-year engineering students at the University of Melbourne. I have also worked as a private tutor for IB Physics HL and SL, Chemistry SL, ITGS SL, and Mathematics HL and SL. For VCE I have tutored Mathematical Methods 3 and 4, Further Mathematics 3 and 4, Chemistry, and Physics. Over and above this, I have also tutored students in Years 8 to 10 Mathematics and mathematics for Master of Finance degree students. I offer my tutoring to students so that they can achieve their greatest potential. Tutoring sessions are student-orientated and I always aim for students to feel comfortable and relaxed. I am happy to go over questions, exercises, or even project reports such as IAs with students. I can tutor any school year level in mathematics and science, as well as university students. I can also offer my assistance in essay or report writing and editing.

I am an extroverted and enthusiastic person who loves to travel, meet new people, and try new things. I enjoy keeping fit and exercising my mind with new ideas. My favourite activities include Skiing, Zumba, Taekwondo, and most other sports. I am also a qualified Zumba instructor and Canadian Level 1 Ski instructor. I am passionate about music and enjoy picking up modern piano pieces (mostly from soundtracks) to play. I enjoy a good science book, or a fantasy novel or movie, with some comedy thrown in. When it comes to studies, I am very diligent and always strive for the top marks. Science (in particular Physics and IT) and Mathematics are my favourite subjects.
