Education
I have an Associate Diploma in Visual Arts from Nepean College of Advanced Education which I completed in 1985 before going on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts from the University of Western Sydney, both in Australia. I obtained a Graduate Diploma of Teaching in Secondary Art from the Auckland College of Education in New Zealand in 2006. I have also obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honors degree in Sculpture and Film from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand in 2006.
Experience
I have experience working as a secondary school art teacher for 20 years in New Zealand. I have also conducted summer school university art courses for adults in New Zealand, as well as Blue Mountain adult evening classes in Australia. In addition to this, I have worked as a private art tutor for 3 years in Melbourne, Australia, as well as a primary school art teacher in both Australia and New Zealand. I am a trained Waldorf teacher as well as a trained architectural stained glass artist. I am a practicing sculptor and have done both solo and group shows. I am also a mixed media artist and have experience with film animation festivals and performances, as well as previously completing public art and stained glass commissions. I have led workshops on sculpture from recycled materials, making a camera, terrariums, drawing, painting, printmaking, leadlight, copper foil, and ceramics. I love sharing my knowledge and skills as well as learning from others.
