Experience
My name is Simon from Simon's Tuition! I am a Pre-Service teacher studying my final year of a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching/Bachelor of Arts double degree at Deakin University. My teaching majors are English, Literature and Media Studies. I really enjoy working with youth and young adults and am passionate about developing a strong work ethic in which students take charge of their own study. I am patient and down-to-earth in my tutoring approach. I tailor tutoring sessions around the individual needs of each student, but can offer structured, general lessons if required. I am available flexibly throughout the week and am more than happy to come to your home, if required. I am primarily able to offer services in the Eastern and Outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, but can travel for a nominal fee if required. Since 2013 I have worked at Deakin University as a Peer-Assisted Study Group Leader. This has involved facilitating study groups for University students and study skills workshops for VCE high school students. Since 2013 I have also worked at Marlborough Primary School as an Outside of School Hours Program Educator and a volunteer classroom assistant. I founded 'Simon's Tuition' in 2015 and provide individual tuition to Year 7-12 students in English, Literature, Media Studies and study skills.
