Hello there! My name is Anastasia, but since it is quite of a long name, call me Anna! I am an 18 year old Chinese-Indonesian (not fluent at Chinese, but I’m fluent at Indonesian, English, and Japanese) and currently studying as an international student in Melbourne. I have been learning piano ever since I was 3 years old, and I have been loving it ever since. I attended my first concert at the age of 3,5 years old, playing the infamous Twinkle Twinkle Little Star composed by the genius Mozart. at the age of 5 I participated in my very first ABRSM Exam, and surprisingly passed with not only a distinction, but also as a high scorer with the score of 139. I participated in many more exams and competitions ever since then, the recent ones being were a high score for Grade 8 ABRSM Exam and received the dipABRSM title from passing the ABRSM Diploma exam. Before I decided to study Music in university, I considered studying literature and pharmacy as well, since reading is what i always do during my free time and Chemistry was my favorite subject back in high school. Currently I am studying as a first year Music student at Melbourne University. Majoring in performance, quality practice is the only key to survive the weekly concerts and monthly performance classes. I am also enrolled in composition classes. Scribbling down notes that passes through my head is a common thing that happens to me almost everyday and I thought it might be a good idea to get more serious into it. In addition, I've always had a dream to be a composer for Japanese animation, a.k.a Anime. If I can combine my love for music and anime, why not? :D In addition to the performance and composition classes, I am also enrolled into teaching class, known as The Art of Piano Teaching. Under the guidance of a well-known Melbourne pianist Glen RIddle, I am able to understand different ways of teaching, since obviously different approaches are needed for different students. Lastly, I've had 3 and a half years of tutoring experience - mostly tutoring kids from the age of 4-10. It has always been a joy for me to see kids who start as total beginners - without any knowledge of what piano is - grow to love the instrument. I look forward to working with you!
