Understandably you may feel slightly apprehensive about being, or having a child tutored by someone who has not yet graduated high school them self, however I assure you that academically I am more than qualified to teach to a year 9 standard, and I have a superior ability to work cohesively and cooperatively alongside children thanks to 2 years of freelance tutoring, and 3 years of teaching dance and soccer to young children. Personally, I have been fortunate in being the student of extraordinarily inspirational teachers. Their common philosophy, and one around which I construct all my lessons, involved the belief that it is not enough to simply know the content – not only does such an approach often fail when encountering unfamiliar questions but it also a very difficult method of maintaining such a large quantity of varied information. It is precisely this approach which has assisted me in achieving the level of academic excellence I enjoy (an average of 94% in Units 1&2 English and English Language, and 92% in maths methods). Through a thorough approach which focuses on systematic learning and the practical relevance of the content, I aim to inspire not only academic excellence but also a conscious drive in individual studies, so my students can enjoy the same rewards I have. I am more than happy to meet/get to know students or their parents prior to commencing tutoring sessions.
