My name is Shanaka and I sat the UMAT in 2011, receiving a score of 100%ile, gaining me entry into 4 different medical schools around Australia. I have tutored over 200 students in the UMAT over the last five years, and have had great success with the students i have taught. Numerous students of mine have matched my own achievement of 100th%ile, and most importantly, many of my students performed well enough to be enrolled in medical degrees across Australia currently. I have also been actively involved with 2 major UMAT companies in Australia and have both tutored and devised questions for them. Whilst my qualifications are extensive, and my results speak for themselves, i believe that being a great tutor is about more than just qualifications. I am a committed and dedicated tutor who strives to get the most from my students. Highly engaging and stimulating and provide for a collaborative learning approach. These classes follow a very structured approach which prepare and prime students for the exam in July. I will provide my own content, video summaries and practice exams for students attending these sessions Classes run weekly for 90mins and the cost is $50/student/week. Online classes: These classes are 1 on 1 and, will run online over a learning platform including shared whiteboard access and online content. This service is currently limited to just 15 students and students living outside of melbourne will be given priority. I will provide my own content, video summaries and practice exams for students attending these sessions Classes run fortnightly for 60mins, and the cost is $100/class. (Enquire for small online groups at discounted rates) My methods, and approaches have proven to be highly successful, and i have great confidence in them. However, i don't believe there is a "one approach suits all" and if a student finds that my approach is not for them after attending 1-3 classes, i will gladly refund fees with no questions asked, as well as refer them to other tutors/preparation options.

Aside from teaching the UMAT, i am a passionate Entrepreneur and experienced biohacker. Recently i have engaged in Novice powerlifting, as well the deconstruction of successful icons in my own podcast. I consider myself to be a refined, well-rounded individual who engages my students and obtains the best from them. Many of my students are now good friends of mine, and we continue to stay in touch as i advise them on career options, pathways and optimal life lessons.
