Education
In 2002, I completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Design Studies from the University of Otago in New Zealand, before going on to study RWA business development, as well as obtaining a certificate in business specializing in design and development in 2003. I then completed a postgraduate diploma in consumer and applied sciences with a major in design studies at the University of Otago in New Zealand. A year later I completed a certificate in multimedia and website design at Aoraki Polytechnic in New Zealand. In 2006, I attended Christchurch College of Education in New Zealand where I completed a postgraduate diploma in education specializing in secondary teaching and majoring in art, photography, and ICT. I also registered as a teacher in New Zealand. I then attended the Sydney Institute of Management and Technology where I completed certificate IV in training and assessment and also registered as a teacher in Australia. In 2010 I completed a master's degree in design with distinction at Auckland University of Technology, and writing a paper on interactive design and digital media for individual expression and learning through visual simulation "Edutainment" using the senses which I presented at the Art and Design postgraduate conference. I then completed a Professional Online Instructor (POIC) for planning and facilitating effective virtual classroom sessions from CALM EdTech in the UAE in 2014. I also have a Blackboard certificate in teaching and learning, online building courses, enhancing communication, and assessing learners, which I completed in 2016. In addition to all of this, I have completed a certificate IV in training and assessment through Pinnacle Safety and Training.
Experience
I am a passionate, driven, and motivated graphic design and multimedia Teacher. I have a special interest in Learning Management Systems (LMS). I have a proven record of designing creative digital and print media work, delivering innovative teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment strategies both in classrooms and blended learning environments. My e-portfolio encapsulates my work experience showcasing a range of skills from teaching graphic design to applied communication students, program coordination, graduate outcome, and event management.
