Education
I completed English SCITT Teacher Training and earned a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education. I earned a Master of Gender Studies with merit from the University of London. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Reading.
Experience
My work experience includes serving as the head of year 12 and an English and history teacher of Dartford Grammar Girls School. I monitored the academic progress and pastoral welfare of more than 150 students to better academic results and pastoral care. I created and implemented a year-long program to develop key learning skills, carried out effective data analysis, and helped with academic intervention to increase A*-B A-Level grades. I led a team of form tutors and developed the form tutor program. I was responsible for my own classes' progress from years 7 through 12, for which my teaching was observed and identified as excellent. From 2013-2016, I worked as the Head of English Language and English Literature A-Level as an English teacher. I completed my NQT in the first year of this employment with teaching graded as outstanding - the highest grade. From 2011 to 2014, I was an English literature and language GCSE and A-Level tutor. I tutored two students at this time, one of whom achieved two grades higher than their predicted English language and literature grades. In 2012, I was a literacy intervention mentor for Cleeve Park School. During this time, I facilitated students' learning and development through small group and individual mentoring and intervention classes.
