Education
I earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Sao Paulo with a GPA of 7.7. I also have a license in science teaching. I am currently studying to obtain a master's degree in teaching at Deakin University.
Experience
I was awarded three merit-based scholarships with which I experienced two exchanges. I speak Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently. I scored 117/120 on the TOEFL. Since the start of my undergraduate degree, I have had experience with tutoring, teaching science, chemistry, biology, and biochemistry to students of all ages between primary school and college. I have undergone several placements where I experienced the school setting and learned the most common difficulties for science students. I have also been a teacher's assistant at a school in Sao Paulo for a year, setting up science classes for primary and early secondary school students. I am very passionate about teaching and science, and I hope to inspire my students to help them make sense of the subject. Tutoring is especially effective for learning because it allows the teacher to target the student's main difficulties and misunderstandings around science. We work problems out using the most appropriate exercises and materials. It is very satisfying to see my students gain interest in the subject as they connect scientific ideas, which I love to tutor.

Hobbies
I am definitely an outdoors person. I love cycling, rock-climbing, slacklining and being in contact with nature. I am usually very chatty and friendly, and I love meeting new people. My experiences abroad made me highly culture-sensitive and resilient, and I am very interested in learning about different lifestyles and ways of seeing the world. I am also very hard working and determined. That makes me more serious and committed as a teacher, since I have the same high expectations on my students as I have on myself.
